What was your path to becoming a psychotherapist and coach?

After achieving success in the corporate world, I found myself feeling stuck, sick, tired, stressed, and depressed with a lot of unhealthy habits.

I knew there had to be a better way of living. That’s when, through the help of a psychotherapist, I began to experience a personal health transformation by making a series of lifestyle changes and developing a new routine filled with healthy habits.

During this process, I made the decision to change careers in order to help others find hope and begin living the lives they want to live.

I returned to college, earning a BS in psychology at SUNY Empire State College, after which I earned an MSW from New York University. During this time, I also studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and became a Certified International Health Coach (CIHC).

Today, I am committed to sharing the freedom and power of lifestyle change through habits with the rest of the world.

What should someone know about working with you?

Asking for help may be the most important yet most difficult step you take to move forward. I know it was for me. That is why I commit to providing you with a safe, nonjudgmental space. I also commit to seeing you as someone with more strengths than weaknesses who is already on your way to the future you want.

I enjoy working with clients who know they are ready to be, do, and have more in life, yet something is blocking them and has them feeling stuck. I believe that the causes of this are useless and limiting thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.

I believe these can be shifted in a short period of time and that you don’t need to spend years in therapy, painfully reliving the past.

I believe your goals can be achieved with the right mindset and habit set. After we clear the limiting effects of your past, we can focus on what you really want and start building that life.

What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?

As a member of the Institute for Rapid Resolution Therapy (IRRT), I participate in routine and ongoing training in RRT. I am committed to learning and practicing innovative ways to communicate with the unconscious mind, which I believe is key to shifting unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?

My worldview is that most humans, early in life, had an experience that went like this:

1) Something is wrong,
2) It is threatening my survival,
3) I must be the cause of it,
4) Therefore, something is wrong with me.

In response to that experience, and in an attempt to survive in this world, we adopted ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. While perhaps useful at one time, these default ways of coping are no longer necessary and, in fact, may now be counterproductive to survival.

Clearing these default ways of thinking, feeling, and acting at the unconscious level results in new possibilities and freedom.

What makes your approach different from some other mental health professionals?

After we agree on a shared intention for our work together, I take full responsibility for you achieving that outcome. I don’t subscribe to the notion that clients don’t make progress because they aren’t ready to change, they haven’t hit rock bottom yet, or they’re resistant. Simply stated, I take your act of reaching out as your commitment and I, rather than you, will be adjusting my approach based on the results you are experiencing.

Where do you offer services?

All services are conducted virtually (via Zoom) and available in the US and internationally.  Scope of practice will be further discussed during the initial consultation.

Additionally, if you live in any of the below states, where I am licensed to provide telehealth as a LCSW, you can also submit for out-of-network behavioral health insurance benefits.
